Day 01
Arrival - Negombo Coastal Start

Airport arrival and Negombo first night – the town’s Dutch canal heritage, Catholic church architecture, and golden-hour seafront light providing a visually interesting introduction to the island even before the journey’s main chapters begin.

Day 02
Cultural Triangle Arrival - Sigiriya Region

The drive through Sri Lanka’s rural interior to the Cultural Triangle, arriving with enough afternoon light to walk the ancient reservoir bund near the hotel and see the great Rock from ground level before tomorrow’s ascent.

Day 03
Sigiriya Rock Fortress at Sunrise & Polonnaruwa

A dawn ascent of Sigiriya Rock Fortress captures the monolith emerging from the forest mist – the finest light of the day on a site that deserves the finest light. The afternoon at Polonnaruwa follows the formal gardens and sculptures of the medieval capital’s most important monuments, explored with a guide whose architectural knowledge goes deeper than the standard site description.

Day 04
Dambulla Cave Temple & Kandy - Lakeside City

Dambulla’s painted caves given the proper morning attention they reward, followed by the drive to Kandy via Matale – a spice-producing region whose roadside gardens and aromas provide one of the most sensorially distinctive transitions in Sri Lanka. An afternoon visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and an evening lakeside walk complete a full and visually varied day.

Day 05
Tea Country Landscapes - Nuwara Eliya Arrival

The highland road from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya through Sri Lanka’s plantation landscape – one of the most consistently beautiful drives in the country – includes a working tea estate visit and the gradual, very welcome shift from tropical heat to cool mountain air as the altitude rises.

Day 06
Horton Plains at Dawn - Cloud Forest & World's End

The early morning Horton Plains circuit walk – through open montane grassland and cloud forest to the sheer cliff edge of World’s End – delivered in the clear light of a highland morning before the cloud closes the view. Baker’s Falls and the endemic highland birdlife of the plateau provide additional natural richness on the return.

Day 07
Iconic Hill Train to Ella

The celebrated scenic train to Ella – one of the great railway journeys in Asia – delivers you to the highland village through a continuous landscape of tea estate beauty, mountain tunnels, and the particular thrill of a train crossing that takes you from highland plateau to the Ella Gap in a single morning of continuously extraordinary scenery.

Day 08
Ella - Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adam's Peak & Highland Light

A full day in Ella – the Nine Arch Bridge at the right time for the hill train crossing, the Little Adam’s Peak hike for the 270-degree Ella Gap panorama, and an afternoon in the village that rewards slower attention with better light on the surrounding hills as the day cools.

Day 09
Yala National Park Drive & Safari

The scenic drive from Ella’s highland through the changing dry zone landscape to Yala, arriving for an afternoon safari in the golden hour that produces the best wildlife activity of the day – leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and the extraordinary birdlife of a park that is visually dramatic as well as biologically exceptional.

Day 10
South Coast Arrival - Ocean & Coastal Villages

The coastal drive from Yala to a southern beach destination passes through some of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful coastal scenery – fishing villages, stilt fishermen, palm-lined beach roads, and the approach to a south coast stay that provides the journey’s most physically relaxing chapter.

Day 11
South Coast Leisure - Photography, Coastal Walks & Ocean

A day for the coast at its own pace – morning light on the beach, optional whale watching from Mirissa, a coastal cycle or village walk, and the kind of afternoon that makes it easy to add an extra night.

Southern Expressway transfer to Colombo Airport.
