Day 01
Colombo Urban Introduction - Architecture & Heritage

A guided first afternoon in Colombo that focuses on the city’s architectural layers – the colonial Fort district, the Dutch Hospital precinct, Bawa’s Seema Malaka on Beira Lake, and the National Museum – setting a frame of architectural and artistic curiosity that the rest of the journey continues to develop.

Day 02
Dambulla Cave Temple & Sigiriya

The drive to Sigiriya via Dambulla Cave Temple – five ancient caves whose continuous 2,000 years of Buddhist mural art represent one of Asia’s great accumulations of devotional painting – arrives at the Cultural Triangle in time for an afternoon at leisure near the great Rock.

Day 03
Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Village Cultural Encounter

The morning ascent of Sigiriya, followed by an afternoon village experience that connects the monumental scale of the ancient site to the everyday life still being lived in its shadow.

Day 04
Kandy - Temple, Lake & Kandyan Arts

The drive to Kandy for a guided visit to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, an exploration of the Kandyan architectural tradition around the lake, and an evening cultural dance performance showcasing the full range of Kandyan ceremonial performance arts.

Day 05
Tea Country - Plantation Landscapes & Colonial Heritage

The highland road through Sri Lanka’s tea country estates introduces the colonial-era plantation architecture that gives the highlands their distinctive character – bungalows, factories, and reservoir landscapes that tell the story of how British agricultural ambition physically transformed an entire mountain range.

Day 06
Scenic Train to Ella - Moving Through the Landscape

The hill country train journey – one of the most beautiful railway routes in Asia – arrives in Ella for an afternoon that uses the mountain village’s easy character as a transition between the highland cultural chapter and the coastal art world of Galle ahead.

Day 07
Galle Fort - Colonial Architecture & Contemporary Art Scene

The drive to Galle delivers an afternoon in the 17th-century Dutch sea fortress – its UNESCO-listed colonial architecture, its galleries and boutique studios, its adapted heritage buildings now serving as hotels and cafes, and the particular creative energy of a heritage town that has found a modern identity without losing its historic one.

Day 08
South Coast Leisure & Coastal Craft Culture

A full south coast day – optional visit to the artisan communities of the coastal hinterland, batik workshops, or simply the pleasure of a beautiful beach with good food nearby.
